Here is some Doctor Who accessories that I think every Doctor Who fan needs! Pretty much, a “starter kit” for the Doctor Who fandom!
Doctor Who (must have!) accessories
Fourth Doctor’s scarf
This is such an iconic accessory to have! Plus, if you’re like me and live in a cold climate this will come in handy to keep you warm in the fall or winter! I bought it from Amazon when I went as Osgood to SLC Comic Con. It’s available for $15.99 on Amazon.
I like making things, I tend to do it quite a lot. I especially like making things that I can wear! Add in the fact that it is a nerd related wearable item and I am sold!! I thought that I would share with you how to make this SUPER easy DIY Harry Potter shirt! The best part is that you can use this technique to make a shirt for any fandom that you are a part of!
Hello fellow nerds!! Below is a list of 4 fandom deaths that I am STILL upset about! And to quote River Song, “Spoilers!” If you haven’t read Harry Potter, or seen season seven of Doctor Who proceed with caution!
4 fandom deaths I am still upset about!
Dobby is one of the under appreciated characters in the Harry Potter series. I loved his kindness and how humble he is. He was such an example of unconditional love. When Bellatrix threw the knife and Dobby ended up dying in Harry Potter’s arms I cried. This was one of the deaths that I cried the most about in Harry Potter. Their were a couple others, but this one still makes me upset!
I started this post originally thinking that I would do my favorite fictional characters and then quickly realized this post would be forever long if I included both TV and movie characters. So here is my favorite fictional book characters! It was so hard for me to choose my favorites because I love so many! But these are my very favorite ones!
Favorite fictional book characters
Trisana Chandler in Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens series by Tamora Pierce
Tris is such a complex character. She is comes across as rather stand-offish and like she doesn’t need anyone else. When in actuality she is just looking for friends and people to care about her. I think this is something to remember when dealing with people in real life. Keep reading
I have had an occasion to meet a couple of celebrities, thank you Salt Lake Comic Con! And I have have definitely fangirled when meeting some of them. Usually I’m pretty good at keeping it together when I actually meet the celebrity, USUALLY being the key word. It’s when I am walking away that I geek out. Check out these four times I totally fangirled.
Tom Felton was the second celebrity that I had met, the first being Karen Gillian. I was standing in his autograph line for a about four hours and as we were snaking our way to the autograph table I started freaking out. Usually, I can contain myself when I am actually meeting a celebrity. However, I geek out when I am about to meet them or after I have just met them. I was dressed up as Bellatrix Lestrange in her prison costume, which he commented on. 🙂 As I was walking away I got really excited and almost started hyperventilating. My sister, who was in the the autograph line with me, told me if I passed out she was going to leave me there. 🙂 Keep reading
Guys, their is only a little over eight weeks left until FanX 2017 at Salt Lake City! Here is a list of some of my favorite things that I’ve bought at cons in Salt Lake. I thought this would give you an idea of what to look forward to!
Favorite things I’ve bought at cons
Doctor Who word art
I love that I can find some of my favorite Doctor Who quotes in this picture! The top of the TARDIS says “Bow ties are cool.” I bought this at the first con that I went to, which was FanX 2015. This cost picture cost me $20.00. I also have a Doctor Who Rose and 10, a golden snitch picture, and a Hunger Games symbol picture that I got at a different time. The seller was offering a “buy two, get one free” deal. I made sure to take advantage of that! Keep reading
This tour basically submerges you in all things Harry Potter. You can view a couple of the sets from Harry Potter, such as the Great Hall and the Gryffindor Common Room. During this tour you also get to learn how some of the special effects were brought to life. And how some of the magical creatures came to be. Basically, where can I sign up?!
David Bowie has done many things in his life. What I will remember him most for is his rendition of the Goblin King from the movie Labyrinth. I still love listening to “Magic Dance”. This moment of the film is so iconic. If you saying the line to me ‘You remind me of the babe’ I will always finish the rest of the intro to “Magic Dance”. And David Bowie does a fantastic job of pulling off this character with confidence. He plays the Goblin King in such a way that you can’t help but like him.
What I got for Christmas this year, nerd version! 🙂 I always love seeing what other people got for gifts so I thought I’d share what I got! I like to see what other people got to give me ideas for future gift giving situations. Hopefully this helps to give you some ideas.
What I got for Christmas, nerd version!
I am a huge Eleventh Doctor fan so a fantastic friend of mine got me these two Christmas ornaments! It’s Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and his sonic screwdriver. I love how the Doctor is fixing his bow tie!! I also was given this TARDIS lanyard that has the words, “It’s smaller on the outside”. It fills me with joy. 😀
