Why these fictional book characters are my favorites!
I started this post originally thinking that I would do my favorite fictional characters and then quickly realized this post would be forever long if I included both TV and movie characters. So here is my favorite fictional book characters! It was so hard for me to choose my favorites because I love so many! But these are my very favorite ones!
Favorite fictional book characters
Trisana Chandler in Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens series by Tamora Pierce
Tris is such a complex character. She is comes across as rather stand-offish and like she doesn’t need anyone else. When in actuality she is just looking for friends and people to care about her. I think this is something to remember when dealing with people in real life.
Hermione Granger in Harry Potter by JK Rowling
You had to have seen this one coming, right?! I love how Hermione is so bossy and such a know-it-all! She loves to learn and takes pride in what she knows. Hermione shows girls that it’s ok to be smart, that it is ok to learn and show people how what you have learned can benefit them.
Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
Katniss, throughout the entire series, is fighting for the things that she cares about. For example; Prim, Peeta, and Gale. I love how she keeps getting knocked down in this series and picks herself back up. She falls apart and manages to put herself back together again, and I really think there is something amazing in that.
Harry Potter in Harry Potter by JK Rowling
The thing I love about Harry is how he copes with everything that is thrown at him. And how he learns to rely on other people, that he realizes that it is ok to accept help. He doesn’t have to do it all on his own. It took him til the seventh book to fully learn this but he finally does.
Dobby in Harry Potter by JK Rowling
Dobby is such a giving soul, and I love that! Even with everything that the Malfoy’s put him through he still managed to be so incredibly kind! This calls to mind a Doctor Who quote, “All that pain and misery. And loneliness, And it just made it kind”. That to me is Dobby in a nutshell.
Magnus Bane in The Mortal Instruments, Bane Chronicles, The Clockwork Series by Cassandra Clare
Magnus Bane is such a sassy character and I love it! I think his personality really shines through in the Clockwork Series, probably because he is a much more prominent character than in The Mortal Instruments. He is just so full of sass and attitude, and it is hysterical!
Percy Jackson in Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson is just so cool! I have always love Greek Mythology and Poseidon is one of my favorites, so the fact that Percy is Poseidon’s son is awesome! And who wouldn’t want to be able to breathe under water? If I were to be anyone in this book series I would want to be Percy.
Joanne Walker in The Walker Papers by CE Murphy
Joanne Walker is forced to believe in something that she has always thought was crazy, magic. She all of a sudden wakes up from having a sword punched through her lung and BAM a whole new world opens up. I love her tough girl attitude that she tries to maintain while her whole world is changing. And I like how she eventually let’s the people she trusts see the soft side of her.
What about you? What are some of your favorite fictional book characters? Are some of my favorites your favorites as well?
