Final farewell to many, you will be missed.
In 2016 we had to say farewell to many of the actors and actresses who have found a place in our hearts. This is my way of remembering what three of my favorites have given to me and why I loved them.
David Bowie has done many things in his life. What I will remember him most for is his rendition of the Goblin King from the movie Labyrinth. I still love listening to “Magic Dance”. This moment of the film is so iconic. If you saying the line to me ‘You remind me of the babe’ I will always finish the rest of the intro to “Magic Dance”. And David Bowie does a fantastic job of pulling off this character with confidence. He plays the Goblin King in such a way that you can’t help but like him.
In my mind Alan Rickman will ‘always’ be Professor Severus Snape. When ever I crack open a Harry Potter book I will envision Alan Rickman as Snape. The greasy haired misunderstood Potions professor. Alan Rickman did such an amazing job with portraying Snape as a strongly dislikable character. When all along their was a depth and inner struggle to Snape that we weren’t aware of. And Alan Rickman did an utterly phenomenal job of making sure that came across in his portrayal of Severus Snape.
I grew up watching Star Wars and I always loved Princess Leia. The thing that I loved most about her is that she doesn’t back down from a fight and she stands up for what she believes in. Princess Leia isn’t afraid to jump into a fight. How many times does she grab a gun and start shooting? Carrie Fisher showed the strong independent side of the princess, but she also showed her softer side. It doesn’t just have to be one or the other but can be both, and I love that she showed that. I saw Carrie Fisher at Comic Con once, and she was so kind to everyone!
I did not create this picture, I found it on Pinterest. But I absolutely love it, and think it is amazing.
In conclusion, I will never forget what these three people have given me and I won’t forget the how their characters made me feel. What about you? Did they have an impact on you?
