I love doing DIYs! They are so fun and then you have a really cool item. That when people compliment you can say, “Thanks, I made that.” And wow them with your awesome craftiness! This month I decided to make a Butterbeer candle. I love how it smells and I love how it turned out!
Glass jar (I made mine in the one with a handle. I got the jar at my local dollar store.)
Spare glass jar to melt the wax
Beeswax Pellets- I got mine here.
Candle wicks-I got mine here.
Vanilla scented wax melts
Butterscotch scented wax melts
Not pictured-Two pencils and two hair elastics
(I didn’t end up needing the hot glue gun, or glue sticks)
Let’s get crafty!
First-Pour about a cup of pellets into your glass jar. Place the spare glass jar in a pan full of water on the stove over medium high heat.
Second-Wait for them to melt. This part felt like it took forever! Patience is not my strong suit. 🙂
Third- Pour in more pellets and the wax scented cubes. The butterscotch one is pretty strong, so I put in one butterscotch cube and two vanilla cubes.
Fourth-Wait for everything to melt. I had to pour more pellets in occasionally to get enough wax to make my candle.
Fifth- Take the spare glass jar out of the water and pour it into the empty jar.
Sixth-Place the wick into the wax. Use two pencils and two hair elastics to hold the wick in the center.
Seventh-Once the wax has hardened undo the elastics and take the pencils off. Cut the wick to your desired length, and clean up and wax drips on the out side of the jar. (Or maybe you aren’t messy like me! 😉 )
Well, what do you think? I love it! The scent isn’t really overpowering, which I LOVE, because I have a super sensitive nose! This scent reminds me of the trip I took to Harry Potter world in California. I really need to go to the one in Florida now! Let me know what you think in a comment down below? Are you going to make your own Butterbeer candle?
