Have you ever thought about the things on your bucket list? Specifically on your nerd bucket list? I have, and you know what? I want to stop thinking of them as someday and start making them happen!! What are some nerd things that you want to do before you “kick the bucket”?
Hello friends! I realized that there has been a sad lack of DIY’s on this blog, and of course I had to remedy that! I think I’m going to aim for doing at least one DIY a month, because I LOVE doing them! So here is my DIY Hogwarts necklace! Check it out and let me know what you think, because I love it!!
Can you believe it’s May already?? I found a bunch of fun nerd things that I really loved this past month! Here is my monthly favorites for April! What have you been loving this past month?
Can you believe I found this movie at Walmart for $3.74?! I couldn’t believe my luck when I found it! For those of you unfamiliar with the TV show Firefly (please go and become familiar with it!!) the TV show was unfortunately cancelled after only one season. Serenity is set in the same universe and it gives a bit more closure to the story than just the TV show alone did.
For a Faceebook group that I am in, Geek Blogs United, they are doing themed posts this week. Between the pages. So basically anything involving books. And because I was feeling crafty I decided to make something with book pages. Of course I did one involving Harry Potter! Come and check out my between the ages craft project!
Between the pages-DIY Harry Potter book craft
I decided to make a Harry Potter candle, because who doesn’t love candle light? And if you combine the flickering candle glow with Harry Potter you’ve got magic!
You only need a few things for this project which makes it all the better!
I’ve decided to start a new series on this blog! At the beginning of the month I will write a post about all the things that I have been loving in the previous month. This past month was an especially good time to be a nerd! *Cough, cough FanX* cough cough* I almost feel like I went on a nerd over load of amazing things and experiences! If that’s even possible. 😉 Below is a list of things that I absolutely LOVE!! Come and check out my monthly favorites for March.
Monthly Favorites March 2017
Harry Potter Merchandise
A lot of these things I already posted about in my FanX Haul post. But these are my favorite Harry Potter things I got out of my haul.
I love these little coins! I think that these are probably one of my favorite purchases EVER from Comic Con. Right now I have them displayed on my Harry Potter shelf, and it makes me happy every time I look at them. Eventually I do plan on putting each of the coins on a necklace. Obviously, you can’t get the same ones that I got but I did find them in a lovely boxed set on Amazon for $17.50. I am planning on getting the boxed set when I put these on a necklace!
I was lucky enough to be able to attend FanX 2017 this past weekend, March 17 and 18. It was a blast! I always have such an amazing time when I get to go! And this post is all about the fun things that I either bought, was given, or won! I think you will be surprised at one of the things I got, I know I was when they gave it to me..
Choker necklaces are really big right now (I see them every where!). So what better way to show my Harry Potter pride than by making me a golden snitch choker?? It’s super easy and didn’t take me very long to make at all! And what Harry Potter nerd wouldn’t love to be wearing their very own personal golden snitch?!
I like making things, I tend to do it quite a lot. I especially like making things that I can wear! Add in the fact that it is a nerd related wearable item and I am sold!! I thought that I would share with you how to make this SUPER easy DIY Harry Potter shirt! The best part is that you can use this technique to make a shirt for any fandom that you are a part of!
Hello fellow nerds!! Below is a list of 4 fandom deaths that I am STILL upset about! And to quote River Song, “Spoilers!” If you haven’t read Harry Potter, or seen season seven of Doctor Who proceed with caution!
4 fandom deaths I am still upset about!
Dobby is one of the under appreciated characters in the Harry Potter series. I loved his kindness and how humble he is. He was such an example of unconditional love. When Bellatrix threw the knife and Dobby ended up dying in Harry Potter’s arms I cried. This was one of the deaths that I cried the most about in Harry Potter. Their were a couple others, but this one still makes me upset!
I have had an occasion to meet a couple of celebrities, thank you Salt Lake Comic Con! And I have have definitely fangirled when meeting some of them. Usually I’m pretty good at keeping it together when I actually meet the celebrity, USUALLY being the key word. It’s when I am walking away that I geek out. Check out these four times I totally fangirled.
Tom Felton was the second celebrity that I had met, the first being Karen Gillian. I was standing in his autograph line for a about four hours and as we were snaking our way to the autograph table I started freaking out. Usually, I can contain myself when I am actually meeting a celebrity. However, I geek out when I am about to meet them or after I have just met them. I was dressed up as Bellatrix Lestrange in her prison costume, which he commented on. 🙂 As I was walking away I got really excited and almost started hyperventilating. My sister, who was in the the autograph line with me, told me if I passed out she was going to leave me there. 🙂 Keep reading
