How was your Thanksgiving last week? Did you get to do anything fun? Did you go Black Friday shopping? I went with my family and we had a blast!! In honor of the holiday here are my five nerd moments that happened in my life that I am SOO thankful for!
My sisters and I love going to SLC Comic Con! I always have a really great time, and one of my favorite things to do is to go to the celebrity panels! Because this way, even if you can’t pay to get a photo op with ALL of your favorite celebrities at least you’ll be able to see them and hear their stories. 🙂 A word of advice if you are planning on attending panels, get the SLC Comic Con app that will tell you the most up to date schedule on panels. Here is a list of my top five celebrity panels!
I’ve decided to start a new series on this blog! At the beginning of the month I will write a post about all the things that I have been loving in the previous month. This past month was an especially good time to be a nerd! *Cough, cough FanX* cough cough* I almost feel like I went on a nerd over load of amazing things and experiences! If that’s even possible. 😉 Below is a list of things that I absolutely LOVE!! Come and check out my monthly favorites for March.
Monthly Favorites March 2017
Harry Potter Merchandise
A lot of these things I already posted about in my FanX Haul post. But these are my favorite Harry Potter things I got out of my haul.
I love these little coins! I think that these are probably one of my favorite purchases EVER from Comic Con. Right now I have them displayed on my Harry Potter shelf, and it makes me happy every time I look at them. Eventually I do plan on putting each of the coins on a necklace. Obviously, you can’t get the same ones that I got but I did find them in a lovely boxed set on Amazon for $17.50. I am planning on getting the boxed set when I put these on a necklace!
One of my favorite things to do at FanX/Comic Con is attend the celebrity panels! I love hearing the celebrities answer questions from the fans! Below is a list of my highlights of the panels I was able to attend. Come take a look and tell me if any were any are on your lists of highlights.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend FanX 2017 this past weekend, March 17 and 18. It was a blast! I always have such an amazing time when I get to go! And this post is all about the fun things that I either bought, was given, or won! I think you will be surprised at one of the things I got, I know I was when they gave it to me..
FanX 2017 Haul
I have had an occasion to meet a couple of celebrities, thank you Salt Lake Comic Con! And I have have definitely fangirled when meeting some of them. Usually I’m pretty good at keeping it together when I actually meet the celebrity, USUALLY being the key word. It’s when I am walking away that I geek out. Check out these four times I totally fangirled.
Four times I totally fangirled
Tom Felton was the second celebrity that I had met, the first being Karen Gillian. I was standing in his autograph line for a about four hours and as we were snaking our way to the autograph table I started freaking out. Usually, I can contain myself when I am actually meeting a celebrity. However, I geek out when I am about to meet them or after I have just met them. I was dressed up as Bellatrix Lestrange in her prison costume, which he commented on. 🙂 As I was walking away I got really excited and almost started hyperventilating. My sister, who was in the the autograph line with me, told me if I passed out she was going to leave me there. 🙂 Keep reading
Guys, their is only a little over eight weeks left until FanX 2017 at Salt Lake City! Here is a list of some of my favorite things that I’ve bought at cons in Salt Lake. I thought this would give you an idea of what to look forward to!
Favorite things I’ve bought at cons
Doctor Who word art
I love that I can find some of my favorite Doctor Who quotes in this picture! The top of the TARDIS says “Bow ties are cool.” I bought this at the first con that I went to, which was FanX 2015. This cost picture cost me $20.00. I also have a Doctor Who Rose and 10, a golden snitch picture, and a Hunger Games symbol picture that I got at a different time. The seller was offering a “buy two, get one free” deal. I made sure to take advantage of that! Keep reading
The first time that I went to Salt Lake Comic Con (well technically it was FanX. but you get the idea 🙂 ) my life changed for the better. I bought the ticket not really knowing what I was getting myself into but Karen Gillan and Tom Felton were scheduled to be there so I wasn’t going to be missing it!! So I am going to share my top 5 reasons I love Salt Lake Comic Con.
So I am a huge Doctor Who fan, and my favorite doctor is 11. Matt Smith is utterly fantastic! During FanX 2015 Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Billie Piper were in Salt Lake, but I made an incredibly dumb choice and thought that I would be able to buy a ticket to the Ultimate Doctor Who Experience the following day after they became available…. Big mistake! The tickets, of course, were sold out. But when I found out that Matt Smith was coming back to SLC for FanX 2016 I knew that this was my chance! I bought a ticket for his photo op as soon as it became available, I wasn’t about to make the same mistake again! And then I proceeded to wait, impatiently I might add, for FanX 2016 to come around.
